DMWR Reflects on UKREiiF 2025: Insight. Impact. Inspiration.

We’ve taken time to reflect on UKREiiF: Insights, Inspiration, and Innovation.

The event brought together the banks, private investors, Government MP’s and consultants from across real estate, with a focus on how we can build and design a more sustainable, inclusive, and purpose-driven future. MP’s on the panel events shared that with 1.5million homes target set by the Government by 2030 and yet, 1.8million are on the current waiting list for social housing. Broken down, this is 300,000 a year yet 371,000 register themselves as homeless per year.

Our team shared their thoughts on this year’s UK REiiF — and the feedback was nothing short of inspiring. From thought-provoking panels to meaningful networking opportunities, the event left us energised, inspired, and brimming with fresh ideas.

“It been great to be out in Leeds with like minded professionals from the industry at UKREiiF this year. There has certainly been lots of lively and informative discussions. But the subject of Gateway 2 is the most hotly debated issue. It really is stifling growth and confidence. Government needs to react now to address this blockage if the much needed new housing schemes are to be delivered.”
Barry Harper-Smith, Managing Director

“Encouraging to hear that so many private and public agendas are aligned, with many exciting and bold visions for different parts of the country emerging. As always there are still challenges ahead such as Powering the Country, BSA issues, and delivering the housing and infrastructure which the UK needs and deserves. To bring the brightest minds around the table is a great step forward, where problems and solutions were discussed to achieve a strong robust balanced & sustainable UK. Thanks to all the inspiring speakers’.
Adam Blacker, Design Director

“Great to hear from industry professionals sharing the challenges and opportunities from both the government’s desire to build 1.5m new homes whilst learning to adapt to the Building Safety Act regime. Positive conversations focused around a possible Pre-app process with the Building Safety Regulator to help them manage and programme workloads whilst allowing designers and developers to engage directly with the Regulator. As we all settle into the new processes involved, there are glimmers of hope on the horizon for large scale, high rise homes to come forward to help address the vast housing need.”
Ben McKenna, Associate Director

UKREiiF was brilliant and busy. There were so many talks happening all the time and loads of chances to get involved in real conversations. Made some great new connections and left feeling properly inspired!”

We’re already counting down the days to next year’s event!
