Southern Grove & Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing
£50m
20 storey residential tower, 144 affordable shared ownership & rental apartments
DMWR Architects were appointed by Southern Grove and Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing to lead a revised Planning Application after a previous scheme by another architect was refused due to concerns over scale and massing. DMWR developed a new design approach in close collaboration with the client, Ealing Council, and the Greater London Authority (GLA).
The resulting part 20, part 14-storey scheme was carefully refined through multiple design stages, with particular attention paid to the quality and layout of each residential unit. As lead consultant, DMWR coordinated the full consultant team over a two-year period, managing the design evolution and planning strategy.
The revised scheme received Planning Approval via Appeal, with the Planning
Inspector describing the proposal as being of “exemplary design.”
The project is now under construction, marking a significant milestone in delivering high-quality, affordable housing in West London.
