Velina Drakalieva

Velina is an Associate at DMWR Architects and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (ACIAT). She joined DMWR in 2024 as an Architectural Technologist and, following her contribution to a number of significant projects across the practice, was promoted to Associate in 2026. A First Class Honours graduate from the University of Westminster, Velina has over 10 years of experience within the construction industry, predominantly working on residential developments ranging from small-scale schemes to high-rise residential buildings and major infrastructure projects. At DMWR, she has contributed to the delivery of large residential, student accommodation and self-storage developments across RIBA Stages 3, 4 and 5. Prior to entering the architectural profession, Velina worked in Procurement within the Utilities industry, where she developed strong project management, contract administration and stakeholder coordination skills. This experience provides her with a practical and commercial understanding that complements her technical expertise.

Velina has strong proficiency in Revit and BIM processes, together with a detailed understanding of Building Regulations and project coordination. She is committed to producing high-quality, coordinated drawing packages and works closely with consultants and project teams to support successful project delivery. As part of her ongoing professional development, Velina is working towards Chartered status with CIAT and continues to expand her knowledge of project delivery, Building Safety Act requirements and Gateway 2 submissions. Velina brings strong technical expertise, excellent organisational skills and a collaborative approach, helping clients and project teams deliver coordinated, compliant and high-quality developments across a range of sectors.
