Gemma Copp

Gemma is an ARB registered Architect and Associate at DMWR Architects with experience in neighbourhood planning, place-making and the design and delivery of residential and PBSA projects from concept through to completion. Her experience spans developments valued up to £50m, including high-rise residential, luxury living, co-living and student accommodation schemes, as well as 100% affordable housing delivered to Passivhaus standards. Based within DMWR’s residential and regeneration teams, Gemma has worked across all RIBA Work Stages, contributing to projects ranging from individual buildings to large-scale masterplans and Strategic Regeneration Frameworks. She places a strong emphasis on creating people-focused places, balancing design quality, technical delivery and commercial objectives to achieve successful outcomes for clients and communities alike. Gemma has extensive experience working with local authorities, stakeholders, Parish Councils and multidisciplinary consultant teams to develop design visions and neighbourhood plans. She actively contributes to public engagement and consultation activities, helping to ensure projects respond positively to the needs of local communities and their wider context.

Alongside her design and delivery experience, Gemma has developed strong technical expertise across a range of construction systems, including structural frames, foundation solutions and façade design. She has also been involved in cladding remediation projects on high-rise buildings, working closely with fire and structural engineers to develop safe, compliant and robust solutions. Committed to continuous professional development, Gemma maintains a thorough understanding of planning policy, UK Building Regulations and construction methodologies. She also supports DMWR’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and contributes to ESG-focused learning and development programmes across the practice. Gemma brings a collaborative approach, strong technical knowledge and a passion for people-centred design, helping clients deliver high-quality developments that create lasting social and commercial value.
