Barry Harper-Smith

Barry is a RIBA and ARB registered Architect with over 35 years construction industry experience ranging from feasibility stages through to delivery. He joined DMWR Architects in 2013 in the role of Managing Director. Based in the Baldock office, Barry has successfully designed and delivered projects in the Residential, PBSA, Retail, Hotels and Industrial sectors. Barry places a strong emphasis on client relationships, ensuring his client's visions are realised in a creative and efficient manner. Barry has considerable high rise buildings experience having worked on projects primarily in the UK, but also internationally. He has worked with various Developers, including Sainsbury's, Premier Inn, Unite Students, Acorn and Future Generation and Contractors, including Balfour Beatty, RG Group and McAleer and Rushe.

In recent years, Barry has led DMWR's burgeoning Industrial and Self Storage sectors. Working with both Developers and Operators, Barry has gained Planning Approval for over 2m sqft of self storage space, most of which has been or is in the process of being built out, and a growing number of industrial projects. Barry brings his insight, enthusiasm and breadth of practical knowledge to benefit clients across a range of sectors.
